Turkey Sweet Potato Chili

  • 2 tbsp avocado oil (or any oil)
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 medium sweet potato, peeled and diced
  • 1 medium red orange pepper, diced
  • 1 can black beans, drained
  • 1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1/2 cup broth or water
  • 3 tbsp tomato paste
  • 2 tsp chilli powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups spinach (optional)
  • 1/2 cup sweet corn (optional)
  • 1/4 cup parsley or cilantro, chopped (optional)


  • Press the "Saute" button on your Instant Pot to warm up
  • Saute turkey with the avocado oil fo about 5 minutes. Add onion, garlic, peppers, sweet potato for another 5 minutes
  • add remaining ingredients and stir
  • Press "OFF" button and then press the "Manual" button and add 10 minutes high pressure
  • Natural Pressure Release of Quick Release after 10 minutes
  • If chili looks watery/runny, press "OFF" then press "Saute" button and let it simmer until the desired water is abosrbed
  • Enjoy!
