I’m Nathalia! I’m a Registered Dietitian!
My passion for nutrition began at a young age, when I realized that nutrition and exercise had a massive impact on my body and health. I was overweight and extremely unhappy with my body. Once I removed fast food from my diet and replaced it with healthy nutritious foods, I witnessed my weight drop and my overall health improved. This was the point when I knew that the field of Dietetics/Nutrition was where I belonged. Although I received my first degree in business/marketing and spent 7 years in the field, I made a hard decision of going back to school to follow my passion and dream of becoming a Registered Dietitian.
I graduated with a Nutrition, Food Science & Dietetics Bachelor’s Degree from Montclair State University. I’m completed my Dietetic Intern at Sodexo (1248 hour rotations in clinical nutrition, food service management, community, and culinary). I’m graduated with Master’s Degree in Dietetics from the University of Rhode Island. I’m also working on becoming a certified personal trainer since it is my great believe that nutrition and exercise goes hand-in-hand.
I hope to combine my business, marketing, nutrition, and culinary background to help as many people as I can.
My hobbies include: Building new recipes, promoting health/ healthy products, working out, and researching interesting topics.
My food philosophy is “you are what you eat.” I believe that great food equals to great health and a healthy life equals to a happy life. Being healthy is not only about physical aspect but it’s about feeling good inside and out. It is important to know where your foods come from by buying the freshest, organic ingredients and making as much as possible from scratch. It is also important to make the right food choices everyday. It’s not a diet, but a lifestyle. However, there must be moderation. I believe it’s acceptable to eat whatever you feel like it once in a while with caution. In the end of the day, food is what connects people together and it’s all about sharing that happiness.
I graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Culinary Arts and I’m currently a senior in college pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Nutrition, Food Science with a concentration in Dietetics. I am also working on my certification to be personal trainer.
My hobbies include: Photography, art, reading, biking, cooking, working out, and music.
